A Liberal man is dead, and another Liberal man suffered a suspected serious injury in a fatality accident Sunday morning in Seward County,

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported shortly after 3 a.m. Sunday, a 1999 Ford F150 was traveling northbound on U.S. Highway 83 about a mile from the U.S. Highway 54 intersection.

For an unknown reason, KHP said the pickup ramped the east curb, entered a side skid and rolled an unknown number of times before coming to rest facing south.

A passenger in the vehicle, 22-year-old Elijio Beltran of Liberal, was taken to Southwest Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead later Sunday morning.

The driver, Mario Visoso-Garcia, 25, also of Liberal, was taken to SWMC with a suspected serious injury. Neither he nor Beltran were wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.
