Julia Alejandra Gutierrez, 40, died Monday, Aug. 31, 2026 at her home in Liberal. She was born June 30, 1986 to Jose and Lourdes (Dominguez) Garcia Sierra. She graduated from Liberal High School. She married Hiram Gutierrez Oct. 6, 2007. He survives. She worked at Cottonwood Elementary School and later served as secretary for Bright Start Early Learning Center. Her faith in God drove her to serve others at Iglesia De Jesucristo Palabra Miel alongside her husband. Survivors also include three sons: Levi Gutierrez, Ian Gutierrez, and Abraham Gutierrez; daughter, Hannah Gutierrez; brothers, Andres Garcia and wife, Maybeline, Wichita, and Asiel Garcia, Liberal; sister, Daisey Barkley and husband, Andrew, Liberal; niece, Sarah Barkley; and nephew, Lukas Barkley. She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Asuncion Dominguez. • Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 10, 2026 at Hornung Family Funeral Home at 1212 W. 2nd Street in Liberal. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 11, 2026 at Iglesia De Jesucristo Palabra Miel at 216 W. Wilson Street in Liberal, with Pastor Jorge Gutierrez and Pastor William Messenger presiding.
