Betty DuBois, 81, died Tuesday, Aug. 25, 2026 at Progressive Care Center in Canon City, Colo. 

She was born July 6, 1945 to Wendell and Cleo (Baylie) Anslinger.

She married Gene DuBois Nov. 1, 1965. He preceded her in death.

She never missed any of her children’s sporting events or other extracurricular activities and was also a leader for their troops in Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts. Additionally, she spent many hours helping her children with 4-H projects and other entries.

She loved sewing for her family and made everything from school clothes for her children to elegant pageant dresses and beautiful Easter outfits and Halloween costumes.

She later worked at Plantation Reproductions in Satanta, Medicine Shoppe Pharmacy in Liberal, and then in the advertising department at a few local newspapers.

Survivors include three children: Rick DuBois, Paula (Dwayne) Owings, and Jeannetta Adamson; 10 grandchildren: Ashley, Maggie, Nicci, Josh, Emma, Zach, Haley, Riley, Michaela and Michael; 12 great-grandchildren: Harper, Hailee, Cooper, Parker, Weston, Felixx, Haiden, Noah, Sterling, Sadie, Hayden and Bella; her brother, Larry Anslinger; and many other family and friends.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; and sisters, Myrna Littlejohn and Darlene DeVault.

• Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 12, 2026 at the Dudley Township Cemetery in Satanta, with Reverend Tom Massey presiding.

A reception will follow at the City of Satanta Community Hall, 104 West Pawnee Street in Satanta.
