MEADE – Francis E. (Red) Dye, 90, died Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2026 at the Kansas Soldier’s Home in Fort Dodge.

He was born July 28, 1936 to Ernest and Helen (Holdeman) Dye.  

He graduated from Meade High School in 1954.  

After his graduation, he joined the U.S. Army, serving for several years.  

Upon his discharge, he returned to Meade and began working for the City of Meade.

He enjoyed working with automobiles and salvage, and spending time with family and friends.

Survivorsw include brothers, John and wife, Wynema Dye, Meade, and Norman and wife, Nancy Dye, Meade; nephew, Bill Dye; and nieces: Cindy Dye, Jennifer Hollis, and Mary Ellen Keck.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Leland Dye and wife, Lois, and Donald Dye and wife, Ferne.

• Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 21, 2026 at Fidler-Orme-Bachman Mortuary in Meade.

Burial will follow at the Graceland Cemetery in Meade.  

In accordance to his request, cremation has taken place.

Memorials are suggested to Teens Living for Christ (TLC) and Meade County Historical Museum in care of the funeral home.
