Alene Calder Herrman, 94, died Friday, April 3, 2026. 

She was born Nov. 12, 1931 to Mearl and Artie (Clarkston) Brunson.

She graduated from Garden City High School

She married Dale Calder Aug. 5, 1950. He preceded her in death.

She married Willard Herrman Feb. 13, 1993. He preceded her in death.

She worked in retail all of her life and her greatest joy in life was her family, including her  four-legged girl, Lilly.

Survivors include daughter, Connie Gent and husband, Frank; grandchildren, Zachry (Lisa) and Shawn; step-grandchildren, Frankie and Amanda; great-grandchildren: Jordan, Josh, Ashlyn (Ismael), Tevon (Lauren), Chase (Haley), Frankie Lee (Alex); six great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. 

She was also preceded in death by her parents; sister, Mearlene; brothers, Doyal and Roger; and great-grandson, Austin.

• Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 18, 2026 at Wilson Family Funeral Home at 405 Argyle Ave. in Minneapolis.

Memorials are suggested to the Golden Wheel Senior Center in care of Wilson Family Funeral Home in Minneapolis.
