ULYSSES – Don R. Dunn, 87, died April 27, 2026 at Western Prairie Senior Living in Ulysses. 

He was born Oct. 26, 1938 to Russell and Gladys (Siefkes) Dunn.

He grew up in Hudson, where he graduated from high school. He continued his education at Pratt Community College and later, Fort Hays State University.

He married Carolyn Rundell Oct. 26, 1974. She survives.

He was a member of Shelton Memorial Christian Church.

He was a member of many boards, including the Pioneer Electric board, the Ulysses CO-OP board, and the Grant County Cemetery board.

He enjoyed photography, collecting coins, square dancing and traveling.

Survivors also include son, Jim Dunn and wife, Kara; daughter, Gina Rees and husband, Doug; brother, Leon Dunn and wife, Jan; sister, Leah Hill and husband, Steve; grandchildren: Reagan Rees, Keeton Rees, Justina Dishman and Brent Dishman; three great-grandchildren: Hendrix Dishman, Haizley Dishman, and Huxton Dishman; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and son, David Dunn.

• Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 2, 2026 at Shelton Memorial Christian Church in Ulysses, with Pastor Casey Chapman and Tamra Rundell presiding. The service can be viewed online on Garnand Funeral Home’s Facebook page.

Burial will follow at the Ulysses Cemetery in Ulysses.
