ULYSSES – Mildred ‘Millie’ I. (Hickey) Barbo, 87, died Friday, April 24, 2026 at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City.
She was born Feb. 1, 1939 to William Lauren Hickey and Margaret Marie Best.
She grew up in Cheney, where she graduated from High School.
She married Vic Barbo June 5, 1964. He preceded her in death.
She worked for Cessna Aircraft and was a bookkeeper for Barbo Well Service.
She cherished time spent with family, her dogs and NASCAR.
Survivors include her children: Kevin Barbo and wife, Debra, and Victor Barbo; grandchildren: Benjamin, Amanda and Angela; great-grandchildren: Bailey, Lynden, Kamden, Corbin, Patrick, Easton, Mason and Elias; stepdaughter, Lorraine Barbo Anderson and Vicki Barbo; and caregivers, Juanita De La Pena and Maria Gonzalez.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; great-grandson, Brandon Barbo; son-in-law, Max Lee Anderson; and brothers, Gene and William Hickey.
• Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 2, 2026 at the Garnand Funeral Home Chapel in Ulysses, with Pastor Larry Borthwick presiding.
Friends may call Friday, May 1, 2026, with family present from 5 to 7 p.m.
