Carol Joy Lockas, 87, died Thursday, April 30, 2026, in Liberal.

She was born Dec. 13, 1938 to Charles and Olive (Clark) King. 

She graduated from Liberal High School.

She worked as a bookkeeper and insurance agent for Zimmerman and Company for many years.

She married Bobby Dean Lockas in June 1959. He survives.

She belonged to the Daughters of the American Revolution and enjoyed researching genealogy.

She enjoyed cooking and visiting the mountains.

Survivors also include son, Michael Lockas; and daughter, Debra and husband, Randy.

• Friends may call from 12 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 6, 2026 at Hornung Family Funeral Home at 1212 W. 2nd Street in Liberal.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 7, 2026 at the Hornung Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Rex Petty presiding.

Burial will follow at Liberal City Cemetery in Liberal.
