ELKHART – Felipe Mancera Sanchez, 78, died Friday, June 5, 2026.
He was born Feb. 13, 1948 to Jose and Lus (Mancera) Sanchez.
He married Delfina Don Juan in 1971. She survives.
He spent more than 20 years working as a truck driver and later, he worked as a farmer.
He was a member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church.
He enjoyed watching movies, especially classic westerns.
He had a deep love for history and was also an avid coin collector.
He enjoyed mechanical work whether it be working on his vehicles or home repairs.
Survivors include his children, Carmen Sanchez, Fili Sanchez and wife, Cathy, Teresa Brown and husband, Kyle, and Noemi Mentesana and husband, Joseph; brothers, Ignacio Sanchez and Martin Sanchez; three sisters: Maria Guadalupe Sanchez, Margarita Sanchez, and Maria Elena Sanchez; grandchildren: Madison Caraway, Sophia Sanchez, Samson Sanchez, Benjamin Sanchez, Elizabeth Sanchez, Olivia Brown, Noah Brown and Eli Mentesana.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and three brothers: Ramon Sanchez, Luis Sanchez and Feliciano Sanchez.
• Rosary will be at 5 p.m. Friday, June 12, 2026 at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Elkhart.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 13, 2026 at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Elkhart, with Reverend Terrance Klein presiding.
Burial will follow at the Elkhart Cemetery in Elkhart.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. Friday, June 12, 2026at Garnand Funeral Home in Elkhart.
