Wayne Edward Haverfield, the son of Dale and Ruby Haverfield (Pitts), born April 23, 1945 in Garden City, died April 24, 2026, at the age of 81 in Star City, Ark.
Wayne married Vicki Phillips Oct. 4, 1963, and they made their home in Liberal. Together, they had five children: Clinton Haverfield, Vickylyn (Haverfield) Belshaw, Wayne Haverfield II, DeDe (Haverfield) Drain, and Charles Haverfield.
Wayne, a lifelong resident of Liberal, was employed by many companies, including Beech Aircraft and The Nash Finch Company, where he found his passion for over-the-road truck driving. Wayne retired in 1996 and spent the remainder of his life with his wife, Vicki, traveling to see friends and family.
Wayne was the brother of Darlene (Haverfield) Palmer, Cecil Haverfield, Loren Haverfield, Garrett Haverfield, Twila (Pitts) Peaster, Clinton Pitts, Robert Pitts, Twana (Pitts) Phillips, and Mary Kay (Pitts) Dobbins.
Wayne is survived by his wife, Vicki Haverfield, of the home; four children: Clinton Haverfield of El Reno, Okla., Vickylyn Belshaw of Redmond, Ore., DeDe Drain (Johnny) of Searcy, Ark., and Charles Haverfield (Sarah) of Cabot, Ark.; brothers, Garrett Haverfield and Robert Pitts; sisters, Twila Peaster and Twana Phillips; brother-in-law, Charlie Phillips; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents; son, Wayne Haverfield II; three brothers: Cecil Haverfield, Loren Haverfield, and Clinton Pitts; and sisters, Darlene Palmer and Mary Kay Dobbins.
• The family will be hosting a celebration of life for Wayne at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 11, 2026 in the Mary Frame Park building in Liberal. The family invites family and friends to join in the celebration.
