Sanh Van Tran, 79, died Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at his home in Liberal.

He was born July 15, 1946 to Tran Van On and Doan Thi Bay. 

He served in the South Vietnamese Army and endured six years as a prisoner of war.

In 1992, he moved to the United States. He was employed by National Beef and also spent time farming.

He found joy in the simple blessings of life, especially fishing and gardening. His gentle spirit, resilience, and love for those around him will be remembered.

Survivors include sons, Thanh Tran, and Nam Tran and wife, JoLynn; daughters, Thuy Tran and husband, Dat Vo, and Dieu Tran and husband, Hung; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and wife Dieu Thi Truong.

• Funeral services took place Saturday, June 27, 2026, including a final send-off chant and a procession to a witnessed cremation.
