Sharon Anne Cook, 80, died Tuesday, June 30, 2026 at her home in Liberal.  

She was born Dec. 11, 1945 to Donald and Juanita (Boggs) Komarek.

She was a graduate of Liberal HighSchool with the Class of 1963.  

She married Melvin Luther Cook Nov. 23, 1963. He preceded her in death.

The couple operated His and Her's Barber and Beauty Shop in Plains until 1980.

She then worked with Amoco and later with Mobile Oil Co.

She became proficient with computers and technology in retirement and  enjoyed PC gaming, crocheting, playing cards, and working with stained glass.

Survivors include son, Matt Cook, Liberal; daughters, Stacey Woods and husband, Barry, Meade, and Mary Packard and husband, Rob, Plains; sister, Donita Box and husband, David, Liberal; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and her beloved little dog, Piper.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; son, Scott Cook; and brother, Ronald Komarek.

• Per Sharon's request, there will be no viewing as cremation has taken place.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 11, 2026 at the Liberal City Cemetery in Liberal.
