The Seward County men's soccer team rebounded from a narrow loss earlier in the week by earning a point in the conference standings Saturday evening, playing Dodge City to a scoreless draw at Redskin Field.

Seward moved to 5-5-1 overall and 0-4-1 in Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference play, while Dodge City stands at 3-4-3 overall and 1-2-1 in league action.

The Saints will step out of conference play Wednesday when they host Trinidad State at 7 p.m. at Redskin Field.

Goalkeeper Nicolas Fonseca turned in a strong performance for Seward, recording five saves while playing all 90 minutes to secure the team's third shutout of the season.

Dodge City held a 6-4 advantage in shots during the first half, but Seward responded by outshooting the Conquistadors 5-4 in the second half. Dodge City also finished with a 6-2 edge in corner kicks.

Leonardo Sapelli Barbosa and Enrique Vasquez led the Saints with two shots apiece.
