The Seward County women's soccer team earned a point in the conference standings Saturday afternoon, playing Dodge City to a 2-2 draw at Redskin Field.

Seward County (4-4-2, 1-3-2 KJCCC) and Dodge City (4-3-2, 1-3-2) are now tied with Barton for fifth place in the conference standings with five points apiece.

The Lady Saints will travel to first-place Butler on Wednesday to conclude the first half of conference play.

Seward controlled much of the first half, outshooting Dodge City 8-3, but neither team found the back of the net as the match remained scoreless at halftime.

The Lady Saints struck quickly after the break. Just 1:30 into the second half, Luz Felix scored off an assist from Marcela De Sousa to give Seward a 1-0 lead.

Dodge City answered less than a minute later when Layla Moreno Cantalejo finished a cross from Adriana Garcia Caceres to even the score at 1-1.

The Conquistadors took their first lead in the 77th minute. Sarah Rollow broke free behind the defense and beat Seward goalkeeper Christie Kannengiesser in a one-on-one opportunity to make it 2-1.

Seward responded in the 81st minute when Nathalia Reginatto converted a free kick for her third free-kick goal of the season, tying the match at 2-2. Neither team was able to find a winner over the final nine minutes.

The Lady Saints finished with a 12-11 advantage in shots and held a 4-1 edge in corner kicks.

Caroline Benck played the first half in goal for Seward and made three saves. Kannengiesser recorded two saves while allowing two goals in the second half.
