The Lady Redskins opened the season at home with a pair of wins before dropping a pair on the road in Kingman.

The Lady Redskins started the year with a double header against Ashland/South Central, and after a close start the Lady Redskins broke open late for a 10-4 win.

The Lady Redskins pushed a run across the plate in the second and two in the third, but the Blue Wolves responded with two runs in the fourth and two more in the fifth to take a 4-3 lead. But the Lady Redskins responded by pushing four runs across the plate in the bottom of the fifth to take a 7-4 lead, and after holding the Blue Wolves scoreless in the top of the sixth, the Lady Redskins added three more insurance runs to push out to a 10-4 lead. Allison Chambers came on in relief in the seventh and pitched a scoreless inning including two strikeouts, and the Lady Redskins earned a 10-4 win.

Chambers led the Lady Redskins at the plate with three hits and three RBIs.

Miley Janko had two hits and two RBIs.

The Lady Redskins outhit the Blue Wolves 12-6.

Carter went six innings and allowed four runs on six hits while walking five and striking out 13.

In Game 2, Haiden Lyon pitched a one-hit shutout in a 10-0 Liberal win.

The Lady Redskins scored four runs in the second, two in the third, two in the fourth and two in the fifth for the walk-off run-rule win.

Lyon pitched all five innings and only allowed the one hit while walking three and striking out nine.

Lyon also had three hits and three RBIs.

Janko had two hits and three RBIs, and Brooklyn Short had tow hits and two RBIs.

Chambers and Carter each had a hit and an RBI.

After starting the season 2-0, the Lady Redskins turned around the next day and traveled to Kingman but dropped both games.

Liberal started out against Halstead and lost 16-6.

Fielding mistakes led to the loss. Liberal committed seven errors while Halstead didn’t have any.

Halstead opened with three runs in the first inning before Liberal responded with two in the top of the second. Halstead answered with four more in the second and third, and the Lady Redskins with two runs in the third and tow more in the fourth to trail 11-6.

Halstead added two in the fifth and three in the sixth to end the game by run rule, 16-6.

Errors plagued the Lady Redskins against Kingman in a 15-5 loss. Liberal committed five errors while Kingman had none.

Champion led the Lady Redskins with three RBIs in the loss.
