L&T staff report

Liberal’s long stretch of road games to start the season continued Tuesday at Goddard, and the Redskins dropped a double header to the Tigers.

Liberal only allowed runs in one inning in Game 1, but it was a six-run inning for the Tigers which was enough to hand the Redskins a 6-2 loss.

Liberal scored a lone run in the second and led until the bottom of the fifth when the Tigers pushed six runs across the plate.

The Redskins added a lone run in the sixth and fell short 6-2.

McKye Morris and Blayden Betts each had a triple in the loss.

Only four of Eisenhower’s runs were earned after the Redskins committed a pair of errors.

Eathan Olmstead and Bren Kappelmann each had an RBI.

In Game 2, the Redskins trailed 2-0 heading in to the seventh inning and had runners at second third, but a groundout to third left them stranded in a 2-0 loss.

Eisenhower scored a single run in the third and another in the fifth.

Two errors allowed both Tiger runs to score.

Kappelmann and Betts combined to pitch a two-hitter with four walks and three strikeouts.

Olmstead and Landry Fitzgerald each had a hit in the loss.

Liberal (4-6) travels to Great Bend (4-3) Friday.
