The Redskins traveled to Cimarron Friday and swept a double header to move to 8-8 on the season.
The Redskins took a 1-0 lead in the top of the second, but the Blue Jays responded with two runs in the second and a run in the third to take a 3-1 lead.
Liberal pushed a run across the plate in the top of the fourth to cut the lead to 3-2.
Eathan Hernandez pitched the first three-and-two-thirds innings before being relieved by Bentley Betts, who threw a scoreless inning and a third.
Liberal scored two runs in the fifth and another in the sixth to take a 5-3 lead.
Bren Kappelmann came in for the final two innings and didn’t allow a hit while striking out four to secure the win. Kappelmann also had three hits.
In Game 2, Kappelmann continued to shine by pitching two shutout innings and pushing three runs across the plate in a 7-2 win.
Liberal scored single runs in the first, second, third and fifth innings to take a 4-0 lead
Liberal added two more in the sixth, and the Blue Jays responded with tow in the bottom of the inning to cut Liberal’s lead to 6-2.
Liberal added an insurance run in the seventh, and after Blayden Betts threw three innings and allowed two runs, Austin Dodge closed out the win with two shutout innings.
