Ruth Mary Dunlap, 99, died Aug. 24, 2026 in Garden City. 

She was born July 10, 1927 to John Daniel and Mary (Hakansson) Lind.

She married Robert Greete Jan. 10, 1948. He preceded her in death.

She married Robert L. “Bob” Dunlap Nov. 26, 1957. He preceded her in death.

She spent 18 years with H&R Block, where she helped countless clients. After retiring, she found renewed purpose as a receptionist at the Finney County Senior Center.

She traveled every chance she got and was fascinated by genealogy.

Survivors include daughters, Valerie Harper and husband, Dennis, Pamela Dunlap and husband, Randy Cowling, and Joanna Meier; son, Robert Dunlap and wife, Leanne; stepson, Pat and wife, Cheryl; daughter-in-law, Pamela Gardner Dunlap; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; sister, Ruby Leese; son-in-law, Dan Meier; and stepson, Dale Dunlap.

• Cremation has taken place.

Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 28, 2026 at Valley View Cemetery at 2901 N. 3rd Street in Garden City.

A memorial has been established for the Finney County Historical Museum; gifts may be sent in care of Robson Funeral Home, 620 S. Main St., Garden City, KS 67846.
