Dorothy Eileen (Redding) Schwindt, 105, died Aug. 25, 2026 in Leoti. 

She was born Aug. 7, 1921 to Orlando and Mable (Bowie) Redding.

She married Hallie Roy Schwindt Aug. 10, 1940.

She was a devoted housewife and mother, and in her spare time, she owned and worked in a flower shop.

A devoted Methodist, she helped with the youth fellowship at her church. She taught Sunday School and a youth program at Pleasant Valley Country Church. She also gave generously of her time and talents in other ways, teaching sewing in 4-H for 15 years.

Survivors include daughters, Mary Lynn Love, and Lisa LouAnn Rozels; by sister-in-law, Melva Rose Reeding; grandchildren: Felicia, Leah, Kyle, and Greg; and many other family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and five siblings: Donald Redding, Helen Jay, Edith Stout, Phyllis Harding, and Robert Redding.

• Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 28, 2026 at Valley View Cemetery in Garden City, with Pastor James Akins presiding.
