Kansas Department of Transportation

The Kansas Department of Transportation is conducting the Southwest Kansas Highway Mobility and Expansion Strategy. The purpose is to address mobility, safety and accessibility in Southwest Kansas.

KDOT is hosting six in-person public meetings that will allow the public to provide feedback on the completed survey results, existing transportation conditions, and the plans for the study.

Public meetings will take place May 20-22 at the following locations:

• Pratt, May 20, 9-11 a.m., Municipal Building, 117 W. Third Street

• Great Bend, May 20, 5-7 p.m., Rec Burnside Room & Lounge, 1214 Stone Street

• Garden City, May 21, 9-11 a.m., Lee Richardson Zoo Finnup Center, 312 E. Finnup Drive

• Scott City, May 21, 5-7 p.m., Western Kansas Child Advocacy Center, 212 E. Fifth Street

• Liberal, May 22, 9-11 a.m., Seward County Community College Student Union, 1801 N. Kansas Ave.

• Dodge City, May 22, 5-7 p.m., USD 443 Administration Building, 2112 First Ave.

There will be a brief presentation followed by an opportunity for the public to speak directly with the study team.

For those who cannot make it in the first hour of the meeting, the presentation will repeat at the top of the second hour followed by another opportunity to speak directly with study team.

Meeting materials will be available online at ksdot.gov/swks-mobility-expansion, for those unable to attend the in-person meetings. A comment form will also be available online from May 20 - June 3.

This is the second round of public meetings for this study. The first round of meetings took place in late March to gather input on transportation needs in the area.
