Three individuals were taken to the hospital, and one is in serious condition following an accident Thursday afternoon in Texas County, Okla.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported around 5 p.m. Thursday, a 2018 Subaru Crosstrek and 2018 Chevy Colorado were eastbound on U.S. Highway 64 about 11 miles north and six miles west of Goodwell, Okla.
Remodeling and security needs have been on the minds of many at the Seward County Courthouse, and Monday, Contract Consultant Neal Coffey brought some news on the progress of that work to county commissioners.
“We’ve been working for quite some time on the scope document for the courthouse remodel with our architect, GMCN,” he said. “As a part of that process, we pulled in the staff at the courthouse, the District Court judges to try to come up with a plan that would work for everybody in the building.”
The Garden City Community College Sports Medicine student program showcased its exceptional skills at the second annual KJCCC Sports Medicine Olympics, securing an impressive second place overall.
Hosted in Hutchinson April 28, the event brought together sports medicine programs from multiple Kansas community colleges and universities for a day of competition and camaraderie.
Traffic reductions are scheduled to start Monday for highway work that will take place along U.S. Highway 56 from the east city limits of Montezuma east to the U.S. 56/283/400 2nd Street intersection in Ford/ Gray counties.
The U.S. 400 bypass west of Dodge City will also be resurfaced, according to the Kansas Department of Transportation,
Bridge repair work is taking place along U.S. Highway 283 on the North Fork Walnut Creek bridge in Ness County, according to the Kansas Department of Transportation.
U.S. 283 traffic will be reduced to one lane in both directions, and a temporary signal will direct one-lane traffic in the work area. The speed limit will be reduced to 30 mph.
