The Seward County Sheriff’s office joined law enforcement across the country during the Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over safety campaign.

From Aug. 23 through Sept. 7, deputies increased presence on local roads enforcing sober driving and educating about the dangerous consequences.

Seward County Sheriff’s Office recorded the following statistics during the campaign:

• DUI arrests: 1

• MIC/MIP citations: 1

• Transporting open container citations: 3

• Ignition interlock device non-compliance citations: 3

• Other alcohol/drug arrests: 5

• Suspended/revoked license citations: 3

• Speeding citations/warnings: 22

• Seatbelt citations/warnings: 6

• Texting while driving citations/warnings: 2

• Hazardous moving violation citations/warnings: 53

Total warnings/citations/arrests: 449
