The Oklahoma Department of Transportation has designated a section of Highway 95 as the Veronica Butler and Jilian Kelley Memorial Highway.
Butler and Kelley were killed in 2024.
A GoFundMe created in 2025 raised more than $2,000 to create the memorial.
The state identified a stretch of Highway 95 between County Road K and M as the memorial highway.
The family spoke at the unveiling saying the memorial has been a long time coming and it has been hard. Butler’s father said he hates this happened, but is happy they are able to do this for women, according to the family statements at the event.
Other family members said they are proud and happy they got the signs up and it is a little bit of light in the darkness.
The five defendants accused in the murders remain in prison. Two of the defendants, Tad Cullum and Cole Twomby, are scheduled to go to trial in 2027.
