Tyrone Public Schools is proud to announce Superintendent Josh Bell has been named District One (Texas, Beaver and Cimarron counties) Superintendent of the Year, a prestigious honor recognizing exceptional leadership and commitment to educational excellence.

This award is voted on by the District One superintendents. This is the second time Bell has been awarded the honor, previously receiving the award in 2014.

This honor also places Bell in consideration for the 2026 Oklahoma Superintendent of the Year, with the state selection process to follow in the coming weeks.

Bell has demonstrated outstanding dedication to the success of students, staff and the Tyrone community. Under his leadership, the district has continued to grow and thrive, maintaining a strong focus on academic achievement, innovation and a positive school culture.

“This honor reflects the very best of Oklahoma leadership – superintendents who lead with vision, navigate complexity and remain deeply committed to the success of every student across our state,” Cooperative Council for Oklahoma School Administration Executive Director Dr. Pam Deering said. “This recognition highlights a superintendent whose leadership is grounded in service, strengthened through relationships and driven by a deep commitment to their community. Josh Bell exemplifies these values in action and is among the very best of Oklahoma leaders. We are proud to recognize this outstanding accomplishment and the meaningful difference they make for students, schools and communities across Oklahoma.”

Throughout his tenure, Bell has prioritized collaboration, community engagement and continuous improvement. His ability to build strong relationships and foster a shared vision for success has position Tyrone Public Schools as a model of excellence.
