Southwest Medical Center is reminding patients that Liberal Family Medicine Care Center has a new phone number for appointments, prescription refills and all patient inquiries.
Patients can now reach the clinic by calling (620) 556-4550.
Family nurse practitioners Heidi Riley, APRN, FNP-C, and Tiffany Landa, APRN, FNP-C, have been caring for patients at Liberal Family Medicine Care Center since relocating their practice earlier this year to 121 E. 11th Street in Liberal. The clinic continues to provide comprehensive primary care services and is accepting both existing and new patients.

Liberal has been fortunate to receive some rain in recent days, but monitoring of weather conditions will continue to ensure safety of people wishing to celebrate the upcoming 4th of July holiday with fireworks.
Tuesday, the Liberal City Commission began its new business by discussing Resolution No. 2458 concerning prohibiting the use of fireworks.

Garden City Community College
GARDEN CITY – Garden City Community College (GCCC) has been awarded a $3,439,901 grant through the Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) as part of the Kansas Rural Health Transformation Program (RHTP), a major statewide investment aimed at strengthening access to healthcare and workforce development across rural Kansas.
GCCC will serve as the lead institution for the “Frontline Futures” partnership, working in collaboration with Newman University, Colby Community College and Seward County Community College.

Liberal’s Early Risers Kiwanis Club raises money each year for programs that benefit the community including Coats for Kids and $5,000 in scholarships. They raise funds is by selling quality peaches each June.
Kiwanis peach sales are taking place across from Adventure Bay Water Park. You can buy them $50 by the case or $30 for a half case.
Get yours before they are all gone, and your funds will be used to help improve the community through the efforts of the Early Risers Kiwanis Club.

Students in USD 480 will see their personal device access greatly reduced during school hours starting this coming school year due to a new Kansas bill.
Superintendent Dane Richardson discussed the new bill during his report at the most recent USD 480 school board meeting Monday evening.
