ULYSSES – Therese A. Minks, 71, died Thursday, Aug. 27, 2026 at Western Prairie Senior Living in Ulysses. 

She was born Jan. 20, 1955 to Donald and Shirley (Komma) Johnson.

She graduated from Ulysses High School. She went on to earn her nursing degree from Garden City Community College.

Her knowledge and compassion led her to many places in her more than 20 years as a nurse. She cared for others in Salina, Abilene and in her hometown of Ulysses at Bob Wilson Memorial Hospital and Western Prairie Care Home.

Outside of her career, she enjoyed going to concerts and the casino.

Survivors include sons, Chad Minks and wife, Ashley, Ulysses, and Christopher Minks and wife, Bri, Oberlin; and five grandchildren: Cambri, Lukas, Joshua, Kaezely and Hudson.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, Michael Johnson and Bret Johnson.

• A private family burial will be held at a later date.
