ULYSSES – Robert E. Myers, 85, died Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2026. 

He was born June 17, 1941 to Sam and Mavis (Ponder) Myers.

He married Sara Lorine Keene June 20, 1958. She preceded him in death Sept. 12, 2025.

He and Sara built multiple successful companies together, including Myers Electric, Central States Mechanical Inc., and the family farm that anchored their life and their legacy. One of his proudest moments was becoming a lineman for Pioneer Electric in Ulysses. 

Outside of his work, Bob was a passionate classic car enthusiast, and he and Sara spent many happy years building and restoring classic cars, traveling across the country to show their work and share their love of the craft with others.

Survivors include his children: Deanna (Gary) Hurst, Brenda (Justin) Ford, and Bobby (Angela) Myers; grandchildren: Jason (Corina) Ford, Jessica (Johnny) Francoviglia, Kellyn (Eric) Cardona, Brandon

(Brittany) Ford, Cody Myers, Celeste (Jeremy) Danler, Crystal (Delores) Myers, Jaelynn (Hayden) Enyart, and Cadaince (Tanner) Luttig; and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Harvey Myers and Earl Ponder.

• Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 11, 2026 at Shelton Memorial Christian Church in Ulysses, with Reverend Casey Chapman presiding.

Burial will follow at the Ulysses Cemetery in Ulysses.

Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 10, 2026 at Garnand Funeral Home at 405 W. Grant Ave. in Ulysses.
