Charles Eugene “Gene” Myers Jr., 93, died Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2026 at Westhaven Nursing Home in Stillwater, Okla. 

He was loved and appreciated at the nursing homes he resided in, and all residents and staff loved and appreciated the guitar, fiddle, banjo, and harmonica songs he played.

He enjoyed participating at Guymon Pioneer Days in May of each year, and he and his brothers supported Ground Hog Suppers in surrounding communities and all other supported meals.

Survivors include sister, Katherine Rawlings (Rick), Enid, Okla.; brother, Warren Myers (Barbara), Rolla; and many nieces and nephews and their children.

He was preceded in death my his mother, Eula; brothers: Bill, Brad, Jimmy, and Kenneth; sisters, Eva Baldwin and Yvonne Moore; niece, Tera Renne Rawlins; and nephews, Jerry Newton, and Perry Baldwin and wife, Polly.

• Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 17, 2026 at the Hugoton Cemetery in Hugoton.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2026 at the Hornung Family Funeral Home Chapel at 1212 W. 2nd Street in Liberal.
