ULYSSES – Flora Jean Stevens, 90, died Thursday March 12, 2026 at Satanta Long Term Care Unit in Satanta. 

She was born Sept. 26, 1935 to Ross and Flossie (Giles) Brooks.

She graduated from high school in Duncan, Okla. She later furthered her education in Wichita Falls, Texas on a band scholarship and graduated as a medical secretary.

She married Delmer “Luckie” Stevens Dec. 11, 1963. He preceded her in death.

She worked at local grocery stores over the years, including Ideal’s, Russ’, Carter’s, and Lowe’s. She also worked as a desk clerk at Peddler’s Inn.

She loved animals, especially dogs, and enjoyed watching the Kansas City Chiefs, fishing, crocheting, writing, and keeping up with friends and family on Facebook.

Survivors include her children: Garland, Carol Jean, Tina Marie, and Anita and husband, Joel; nine grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

She was also preceded in death by her son, Sammie.
