Paula L Schmidt, 65, died Tuesday, April 7, 2026.

She was born Sept. 13, 1960 to Robert and Roberta (Bryan) Williams.

She married Ted Schmidt Aug. 25, 1979. He survives.

She graduated from Liberal High School with the Class of 1978. She later obtained her Licensed Practical Nursing Certification through Seward County Community College.

She enjoyed collecting Coca-Cola memorabilia and loved watching “The Wizard of Oz” whenever it aired. She also enjoyed planting in her flower pots and spending time with family.

She was a member of Faith Harvest Church (formerly Turpin Mennonite Church) for 46 years.

Survivors also include daughters, Kayla James (Tony), and Julie Veenstra (Kevin); son, Kenton Schmidt; sister, Lorraine Schell (Dale); and six grandchildren: Aaron, Ella, Brett, Reagan, Derek, and Jenna.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers: Jeff Williams, Kenny Williams, and Robin Williams; and multiple nieces and nephews.

• Per the family's wishes, there will be no public viewing and cremation has taken place.

Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 11, 2026 at Faith Harvest Church in Turpin, Okla., with Pastors Mike and Karen Isaacs presiding.
