Jessie R. Lerma, 85, died May 12, 2026.

She was born Feb. 9, 1941 to Felipe and Justa (Rios) Rodriguez.

She dedicated much of her working life to retail sales at Walmart.

She was a puzzle enthusiast and a passionate reader.

She also enjoyed watching game shows, with “Family Feud” being a particular favorite. She also found a bit of fun and hope playing Lotto Tickets, embracing each ticket with a spirit of optimism.

She was a lifelong member of St. Dominic's Catholic Church in Garden City.

Survivors include four sons: Raul Ryan, Roberto Lerma and wife, Sheila Stone, Oscar Lerma, and Adrian Lerma; daughters, Maria Davila and husband, Alfredo, and Raquel Flores and husband, Craig Renick; brother, Felipe Rodriguez and wife, Rose; sister, Ofelia Orlow; 13 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Miguel Rodriguez; sister, Oralia Terriquez; and grandson, Alexander Flores.

• Funeral services will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 26, 2026 at St. Dominic's Church in Garden City.

Burial will follow at Valley View Cemetery in Garden City.
