Robert Thomas Gonzales, 46, died April 25, 2026 in Garden City. 

He was born May 30, 1979.

He graduated from Garden City High School, where he laid the foundation for a career in the culinary arts. He was a chef at Time Out Sports Bar and Grill.

He enjoyed watching television, traveling to new places, and relishing the art of cooking barbecue. Building with Legos was among his other creative outlets.

Survivors include his parents, Robert Martinez Gonzales and Sheila Karen (Mancha) Gonzales; his partner, Richard Gallegos; sister, Renae Nicole Pennington and husband, Riley; nephews, Ryan and Rhyse; and many other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Thomas and Gilda Mancha, and John Gonzales and Rebecca Trejo.

• Memorial services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, May 30, 2026 at Robson Funeral Home in Garden City.

Burial will follow at Valley View Cemetery in Garden City.
