ULYSSES – Sharlett Dyann Lamberson, 75, died Saturday, May 9, 2026. 

She was born Nov. 1, 1950 to Harold and Clara (Johnson) Betterton.

She grew up in Pritchett, Colo., where she graduated high school as valedictorian and continued her education at Amarillo Business School.

She married Gail Lamberson March 21, 1970. He preceded her in death.

She began her career in banking at Southwestern Savings and Loan, Credit Union of the Southwest, and for more than 30 years worked as a loan officer at the Golden Plains Credit Union.

Survivors include her mother; daughters, Tess Peden and husband, Kurtis, and Brandi Salinas and husband, Francisco; three sisters: Debi Hagerman and husband, Richard, Sherry Betterton, and Cindy Garcia and husband, Ernie; four grandchildren: Tyler Peden and wife, Alexis, Tanner Peden, Braysen Salinas, and Jaxsen Salinas; and great-grandchildren, Finn and Miles Peden.

She was also preceded in death by her father.

• Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, June 5, 2026 at Garnand Funeral Home Chapel in Ulysses with Pastor Marcos Martinez presiding.

Private family burial will be at the Ulysses Cemetery in Ulysses.
