JOHNSON – Jay L. Edgar, 82, died Saturday, May 30, 2026, at Morton County Hospital in Elkhart. 

He was born Oct. 28, 1943 to Glenn and Lois (Eversol) Edgar.

He graduated from high school in Walsh, Colo. before attending Denver Business School, where he earned his bachelor's degree.

He spent a big part of his life farming. He also worked for Teeter Irrigation as a salesman, selling sprinklers.

He had a passion for gardening and was also a fanatic of hot rods and street rods and classic vehicles. Above all else, Jay's greatest joy in life was his family, and he treasured every moment spent with them.

Survivors include son, Clay Edgar and wife, Amy; grandchildren, Jaydon and Emily; sister, Glenda Worm and husband, Buddy; nephews, John and Jess; and nieces: Jori, Juda and Jubi.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and son, Rance Edgar.

• Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 4, 2026 at Fields Memorial Wesleyan Church in Johnson, with Pastor Erik Miravete presiding. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. at Elkhart Cemetery in Elkhart.
