Emelia June Christy, 79, died Saturday May 30, 2026 at BSA Hospital in Amarillo, Texas.  

She was born Sept. 20, 1946 to Ignacio and Lucinda (Fuentes) Cordova.

She married Daryl Christy June 14, 1985. He survives.

She worked many years as a telephone operator.

She enjoyed playing BINGO, going to casinos, camping and fishing at Ft. Supply and other surrounding lakes.

She was a member of St Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Liberal.

Survivors also include son, Charlie Joe Baker; daughters, Selena (Anthony Joe) Sena, and Tammie Leigh Baker-Baray; stepdaughter, Tina Christy; brother, Stanley Cordova; sisters, Theresa Heger and Patricia Bedford; five grandsons: Robert (Kimber) Baker, Michael (Natalia) Sena, Marquise (Mariah) Arellano, Logan Baker, and Ryan (Jennifer) Burns; granddaughters, Charli Jo Sena and Lucia Acevado; and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers: Henry Cordova Sr., Geronimo Cordova and Gilbert Cordova; and son-in-law, Carlos Beray.

Rosary will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 3, 2026 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Liberal, KS.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 4, 2026 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Liberal, with Fr. Charles Seiwert presiding.

Burial will follow at the Liberal City Cemetery in Liberal.
