William “Willie” Milton Ortivez Sr., 75, died Thursday, June 11, 2026, in Great Bend. 

He was born Dec. 21, 1950 to Milton and Amalia Ortivez.

He served in the United States Army and later dedicated many years to his career with Dowell Oil Field, Key, and Smileys.

He enjoyed reading western novels, solving crossword puzzles, fishing, enjoying his coffee, and watching reels on his phone.

Survivors include his ex-wife, Misty Ramsey; children: William “Billy” Ortivez Jr.(Megan), Johnathan Ortivez (Kaylee), Justin Giesbrecht (Adrianna), and Mary Ortivez; siblings: Ronnie Ortivez (Marie), Leonard Ortivez, and Bernice Jaramillo; and grandchildren, Adalyn and Sutton, with a third grandchild, Armani, due in July.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Lloyd; sister, JoAnn; and grandson, Cooper.

• Funeral services took place Wednesday, June 17, 2026 at Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Ulysses.

A memorial has been established for the William Milton Ortivez Sr. Memorial Fund in care of Robson Funeral Home, 218 South Main, Ulysses, KS 67951.
