The Seward County men's soccer team won its fourth straight match Saturday afternoon, defeating Metropolitan Community College 7-0 at Redskin Field.

After falling in its season opener, Seward (4-1) has reeled off four consecutive victories. Metropolitan dropped to 2-3-1.

The Saints scored their first goal just three minutes into the match and added their final tally in the closing minute. Seward netted three goals in the first half and four more in the second.

Joseph Franklin opened the scoring off an assist from Sean Murphy. Franklin has now scored in four consecutive matches. Murphy later added his first collegiate goal four minutes into the second half to make it 4-0.

Samuel Jimenez continued his strong start to the season, scoring twice and adding an assist. Jimenez leads the Saints with five goals and five assists.

Joao Dornas, Joao Dal Farra and Martin Dunn also scored for Seward.

Goalkeepers Nicolas Fonseca and Jonathan Wallace combined for the shutout, recording two saves apiece.

Seward outshot Metropolitan, 17-7. The Saints' seven goals were their most in a match this season and their highest total since an 11-1 victory over Tabor JV on Sept. 18, 2024.

The Saints travel to nationally ranked Cowley today to open conference play. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
