The Liberal Redskins had an offensive eruption in Hugoton to come away with a pair of wins Thursday.

Evan Castillo led the Redskins in Game 1 with 4 RBIs in a 14-6 win.

Liberal scored five in the first, two in the second, five in the third and two in the seventh.

Hugoton scored two in the first and four in the third.

Kale Miller pitched two innings and allowed six runs on eight hits while striking out two. Bren Kappelmann pitched five shutout innings and only allowed three hits while striking out five.

Blayden Betts had three hits in the win.

Liberal only needed four innings to defeat the Eagles in Game 2, 18-2.

Liberal scored four in the first, two in the second, four in the third and nine in the fourth.

Hugoton scored its two runs in the first.

Blayden Betts allowed two runs on two hits and three walks while striking out three in three innings, and Bentley Betts pitched an inning and did not allow a hit while striking out one.

Bentley Betts also had four hits and three RBIs.

Kye Morris had two hits and three RBIs.
