The Redskins traveled to Lawrence to face the No. 2 seed Free State Firebirds in the first round of the Class 6A playoffs and lost 11-0.
Eathan Hernandez had Liberal’s lone hit in the loss.
The Redskins used four different pitchers in an effort to slow the scoring threat of the Firebirds, but walks started to pile up, and the Firebirds were able to cash in on the free bases.
The Redskins pitchers allowed 11 walks in four innings while only striking out four. Lawrence Free State was able to score 11 runs on only seven hits.
The loss ended Liberal’s season.
