Green Day back with new ‘Saviors’ album

Green Day has been a favorite band of mine since high school when I came across their “American Idiot” album. I was so obsessed with the album, I ultimately asked for it as a birthday present and it remains in regular rotation in my car’s stereo even today.

Since then, I’ve dabbled in listening to some of their other albums and when I heard a little while ago they were releasing a new album, “Saviors,” I knew I’d have to give it a listen on Spotify on its release date. I did just that and ultimately ended up pretty happy with what I listened to.

‘Come From Away’ making its way to Wichita

The Broadway in Wichita series is set to kick off for 2024, and the first show of the year will be “Come From Away.”

The national tour of "Come From Away" will be making its way to the Century II Concert Hall in Wichita with performances taking place Jan. 26 (8 p.m.), Jan. 27 (2 p.m. and 8 p.m.) and Jan. 28 (8 p.m). The show tells the true story of 7,000 people from many different countries and walks of life who were stranded in the small town of Gander, Newfoundland after all flights into the US were grounded the week of Sept. 11, 2001. As the people of Newfoundland graciously welcome the 'come from aways' into their community in the aftermath, the passengers and locals alike process what’s happened while finding love, laughter, and new hope in the unlikely and lasting bonds they forge. As cast member Andrew Hendrick tells it, there is a lot of excitement surrounding bringing the show to Wichita.

2023 offered multiple choices for movie fun

2023 was a rather interesting year for movies and recently, I got to thinking about some of my favorites I was able to see throughout the year. Some of them you’ve seen reviews of here while some of them I ultimately ended up not writing reviews for due to whatever circumstances were going on at that time.

So I thought it would be fun to go back through the year and talk about some of the movies I enjoyed in 2023. Let’s jump in!
