Authorities are investigating a fatality wreck that killed a Dallas woman early Friday morning in Cimarron County, Okla.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol said the accident occurred shortly before 1:30 a.m. Friday on U.S. Highway 287 and U.S. Highway 412 on an overpass about one mile east of Boise City, Okla.

The Kansas Hispanic and Latino American Affairs Commission (KHLAAC) officially has a new person in charge with new executive director Irma Faudoa.

Gov. Laura Kelly made the announcement late last month.

“I have no doubt Irma Faudoa is the right person to lead KHLAAC toward continued success,” Gov. Laura Kelly noted in a release from the State of Kansas. “She has a proven track record in community engagement and legislative affairs, which will benefit Kansas’ Hispanic and Latino communities.”

USD 480

As a school district and community, there are so many things to be proud of from this past school year; from the forthcoming accreditation status change, to the drastic decline in chronically absent students, to Liberal High School being named an All-Star School again this year for its efforts in preparing students for their post-secondary endeavors, plus the countless other recognitions the students, staff, schools, and school district received.

There is so much to celebrate and with that in mind, USD 480 would like to extend an invitation to the entire Liberal community for a cookout this Friday at the Bee Jays games from 5 to 7 p.m. None of the achievements and milestones reached this year belong solely to USD 480, but also to the students, parents, community members, and all other stakeholders.

Celebrate the 2023-2024 school year and all of the accomplishments.

In America’s early days, long before highways became commonplace, people could be seen riding horses and camping under the stars as darkness fell upon the sky before continuing on their journey across the country.

Over the years, with the invention of the automobile, people began to use horsepower to make their way, and equine friends being used as transportation became less of a sight.

A California family started its journey in April 2022 on the backs of horses, and they are calling it a journey like no other.
