The Seward County Commission has elected Joe Denoyer to serve on the Southwest Medical Center (SWMC) Board of Trustees.
Denoyer will serve a two-year term, bringing his extensive experience and dedication to the board.
Seward County Community College Medical Laboratory Technology student Amanda Millea was recently named Outstanding Student by the Kansas branch of the American Society for Clinical Laboratory Science (ASCLS).
Millea, a full-time, second-year student in the program “demonstrates a commitment to learning and successfully completes all course requirements,” MLT Program Director Dr. Suzanne Campbell said. “Ms. Millea spends quality time gaining the knowledge required to be a medical laboratory professional. Her clinical instructors consistently rank her skills above those expected of a student in the current phase of the program.”
MANHATTAN – A program that develops leaders for agriculture, business and rural communities recently celebrated its newest graduates at the same time it announced the next class of participants.
Jill Zimmerman, president of the Kansas Agriculture and Rural Leadership program, said 30 individuals of Class XVI celebrated the class’s success and KARL completion.
Pending board approval at the June 17 trustees meeting, Seward County Community College will add a member to its executive team.
Dr. Amber Jones was named Vice President of Career Technical Education (CTE) following a national search and interview process. Jones has served as SCCC Dean of Industrial Technology and, for the past year, SCCC Dean of CTE, combining oversight of the industrial technology and allied health divisions.
