For sisters Judy Scott and Amy Pilger, the path to the art world took decidedly different journeys.
Scott said she never intended to become an artist, and now even in her 80s, she does not feel she has achieved that status yet. On the other hand, Pilger learned from what both called a creative mother.
Pilger said her mom taught her a layer of contact paper can improve anything.
The USD 480 school board made quick work of the old and new business on its agenda at its most recent meeting Monday evening.
Before the meeting’s new business, however, the district recognized recipients of the district’s new Five C’s (Communication, Collaboration, Caring, Conviction, College & Career) honor. The recipients honored at Monday’s meeting were Alejandra Moreno, Matthew McIntyre, Jamie Downs, Tasha Ebeling, Sheila Medina, Paul Fisher, Pedro Arellano, Rusty Tuman, and Joel Plummer.
The Kansas Department of Transportation announces the launch of a comprehensive bus study survey to enhance public transportation services across the state.
Anyone can take the survey, especially users of public transit and intercity bus services. The survey will take about six minutes to complete and is available online at surveymonkey.com/r/KDOT-IntercityBusCommunitySurvey. The survey will close Nov. 30.
The Liberal City Commission will look to have an easy meeting this evening starting at 5:30. Tonight’s meeting will be in the commission chambers at the Liberal Recreation Center at 950 S. Grant Ave.
The commission will begin its new business by revisiting discussion of the 2024 Audit Contract.
The price of prescription drugs continues to be a hot topic and last week, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) made a big announcement regarding just that.
Earlier this month, HHS, through the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), released a Request for Information (RFI) and a sample list of prescription drugs that the agency preliminarily intends to include under the proposed Medicare $2 Drug List Model, which was developed in accordance with Executive Order 14087 concerning lowering prescription drug costs for Americans, according to a release from HHS.
