Jerry W. Barlow, 82, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2026, at Tomball Hospital in Tomball, Texas after losing his battle with cancer.
He was born Nov. 14, 1943 to Harvey and Hildred Barlow in Shattuck, Okla.
He graduated from Eureka High School in Baker, Okla. in 1961and attended Oklahoma Panhandle State University in Goodwell, Okla. before marrying Margaret Sutton July 10, 1964.
He was a resident of Liberal, working for National Helium until he transferred to Trunkline Gas and moved to Moss Bluff, La. in 1980. From there, he transferred with Trunkline Gas to Cypress, Texas in 1984, retiring in 2001 before moving to Magnolia, Texas.
He loved Oklahoma University Sooner sports and watching his grandchildren play their sports.
He is survived by wife Margaret, Magnolia, Texas; children: Barry Barlow, Sulphur, La., Jera Chovanec, Magnolia, Texas, and Brady Barlow and wife, Denise, Cypress, Texas. He was a devoted loving Poppa to all his grandchildren: Preston Chovanec and wife Corinne, Lenexa, Reese Chovanec and wife, Kayli, Jackson Mo., Bailey Mistric and husband, Kade-Krotz, Springs, La., Bode Barlow, Sulphur, La., Elise Barlow, Oklahoma City, Okla., Rhett Barlow, Cypress, Texas, and Addison Barlow, Cypress, Texas; great granddaughters, Sutton and Andie Mistric-Krotz, Springs, La.; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Hildred Barlow; brothers: Joel and wife, Ruth, Glenn and wife, Joyce, Joy Barlow, and twin Jim and wife Jimmy Lee; sisters: Jane and husband, Bryce Neaville, Nina and husband, Bill Williams, and Lucille and husband, Cecil Meyers; nieces: Carolyn, Carlene, Jolynn; nephews, Christopher and Barrett; in-laws, Bob and Freda Sutton; daughter-in-law, Leslie Barlow; brother-in-law, Delvin Simmons; and niece, Tamie.
