Alvaro C. Atayde, 82, died Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2026 in Ulysses. 

He was born May 19, 1944 to Blas Atayde and Francica Chacon.

He married Julia R. Ramos Sept. 5, 1964. She survives.

He was a member of Mary, Queen of Peace Catholic Church.

He devoted 30 years of service to the City of Ulysses before retiring.

Survivors also include four sons: Alvaro Ray Atayde, Eugene Atayde, Estevean Atayde and Teresa, and Faviel Atayde; three daughters: Teresa L. Flores and Carlos, Delores Atayde, and Rosa Guillen and Jorge Gonzalez; brother, Abelardo Atayde and Rosa; 15 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and many great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his sisters: Benita Rodriguez, Elvira Reyes, and Tomasa Barron.

• Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 10, 2026, and from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 11, 2026 at Robson Funeral Home at 218 South Main in Ulysses.

Rosary will also be at 7 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 12, 2026 at Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Ulysses.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 12, 2026 at Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Ulysses.
