Benjamin Harrison Nix Jr., 97, died Friday, Oct. 2, 2026 in Hugoton.
He was born Feb. 17, 1929 to Benjamin H. Nix and Lydia (Shaeffer) Nix.
He graduated from Hugoton High School in 1947.
He worked at various jobs, including the construction of the Rolla Co-Op Elevator and farming with his dad and brothers.
He married Jane Naegele Aug. 13, 1950. She survives.
He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church.
He raised cattle and farmed until he was 67, and then retired to have more time to spend enjoying the things he liked to do, including traveling and taking trips with friends and family.
He watched many softball, football, basketball, and track events for all their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
His faith in His Lord and Savior was the most important part of his life, along with Jane and the family.
Survivors also include children: Debby Clark and husband, Dewayne, Rick Nix, Judy Heaton and husband, Ted, Tami Bond and husband, Greg, and Jill Jordan and husband, Terry; 16 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren, with one due in February 2027.
He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers: Ford, Virgil, Homer, Harding, and Reed; sisters, Norma Brunte and Nellie Hyde; grandchildren, Dewayne Heaton and Denise Poole Heaton; great-grandson, Lincoln Moore-Carpenter, daughter-in-law, Tracey Nix.
• Friends may call from 12 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 8, 2026, and from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 9, 2026 at Robson Funeral Home in Hugoton.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 10, 2026 at Hugoton Assembly of God in Hugoton.
Burial will follow at the Hugoton Cemetery in Hugoton.
