Kathryn Dell (Hatcher) Reiss, 98, died Oct. 12, 2026. 

She was born Sept. 2, 1928 to Robert and Mabel Hatcher. 

She attended school in Kismet and graduated in 1946. She later attended Kansas State University.

She married Gerald Reiss in 1948. He preceded her in death in 1978.

She was a lifetime members of the Kismet Methodist Church, Kismet Supper Club, Kismet Square Dance Club and involved in numerous other community activities. 

She became a member of Beta Sigma Phi, The Prestige Club, and enjoyed traveling around the world as a travel agent and tour guide. 

She loved animals and being outdoors, and spent most afternoons on her back porch reading. 

Survivors include her children: Stan Reiss and his wife, Cheri, Kismet, Shelley and husband, Don Wilcox, Peoria, Ariz., and Denise and husband, Tim Loftus, Franklin, Tenn.; six grandchildren: Clint (Christina) Reiss, Jenny (Jason) Chase, Brett (Sarah) Reiss, Ashley (Daniel) Bruno, Chad (Caylie) Wilcox and Dominique Loftus (Kyle Gordan, newlywed); and 12 great-grandchildren: Jayde (Caleb) Tanner, Coleby (Kamry) Reiss, Conor Reiss, Jaxon Chase, Katelyn Reiss, Addison Reiss, Leah Reiss, Alessia Bruno, Ezio Bruno, Serafina Bruno, Giorgio Bruno, and Jett Wilcox.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; four siblings: Margret Tracy, John Hatcher, Doris Brann and Bob Hatcher: and granddaughter, Megan Reiss.

• Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 23, 2026 at the Hornung Family Funeral Home Chapel at 1212 W. 2nd Street in Liberal.

Celebration of Life services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 24, 2026 at the Kismet Methodist Church at 806 Main Street in Kismet, with Pastor Buck Linton-Hendrick presiding. 

Burial will follow at Restlawn Cemetery in Liberal. 

Memorials are suggested to Kismet Methodist Church or Mustang Farm Foundation in care of the Hornung Family Funeral Home, 1212 W. 2nd Street, Liberal, KS 67901.
