A Liberal home suffered extensive damage as the result of a structure fire Tuesday afternoon.
Emergency personnel were called to the scene shortly before 3 p.m. Tuesday.
Students throughout USD 480 spent some extra time in the classroom this summer, and as the coordinators for the elementary school programs told it at the most recent USD 480 board meeting, there was much success seen.
One driver sustained a head injury, and another received a citation in an accident Tuesday afternoon in north Liberal.
The Liberal Police Department issued a press release saying shortly after 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, officers and emergency personnel to a reported injury accident at the intersection of Tucker Road and Lilac Drive.
USD 480 is pleased to announce that Mrs. Louisa Gonzalez has been appointed as the interim principal at Prairie View Elementary, effective immediately.
Mrs. Gonzalez brings with her a deep commitment to the success of Prairie View’s students, staff, and families. In her current role as an ESL Interventionist, she has consistently demonstrated exceptional leadership, unwavering dedication, and a passion for creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment. Her ability to connect with students and staff alike, along with her collaborative approach, makes her an outstanding choice to guide the school through this transition.
USD 480 has full confidence in Mrs. Gonzalez’s leadership and vision, and she will continue to foster a culture of excellence and growth at Prairie View Elementary.
Labor Day weekend is nearing, and for more than a century in the small town of Kismet, the weekend has marked the time for one of the area’s most well-known celebration.
The 106th edition of the Little World’s Fair kicks off Saturday, Aug. 30, and runs through Labor Day Monday, Sept. 1, with plenty of fun for everyone.
“I can’t believe a small community like Kismet can pull off something like this that lasts so long. We’re really proud of that,” LWF organizer Brett Reiss said.
