Getting the hay wagon through the gate was always a challenge when taking bales off a field to be stored at a yard. All of the gates were constructed prior to the invention of round balers and therefore the openings were generally snug when trying to sneak a trailer through loaded with 10 bales.

Clearing the gate was the main obstacle for every hayfield save one, which didn’t have a fence let alone a gate. The hayfield was a small parcel left after a highway project divided a former pasture. The 10 acres or so wasn’t worth fencing in for grazing so it became a meadow.

Over a hundred small rural Kansas schools are too small to provide qualified in-person teachers in all secondary fields (math, science, ELA, social studies, etc.). They are providing their students with a 1930s-level education.

The Kansas Directory to Public Schools is maintained and updated by the KSDE. In the latest edition, there are two Kansas USD’s with no students K–12! Most Kansas schools graduate high school seniors but some transfer their high school students to another district and five USDs lack a high school.

The conviction of Donald Trump by a New York City jury will have no effect on the election.

There may be some short-term trend against Trump, but the public fully understands the nature of this verdict and the partisan bias behind it.

Judge Juan Merchan has guaranteed that this verdict will be perceived as a manifestation of judicial bias. His daughter’s employment by the Democratic Party as a fundraiser, and his biased rulings throughout the case make his bias evident.

Some people don’t like oil-based products.

Forget the fact that many life-saving devices and health care products, not to mention the oil and fuel that have created worldwide and even interplanetary mobility, these morally superior types believe they are saving the planet by trying to end the use of oil.

Crazy, I know, but everyone has the right to protest.
