GOODWELL, Okla. – Oklahoma Panhandle State University (OPSU) students made history at the 2025 North American Colleges and Teachers of Agriculture (NACTA) Judging Conference in Canyon, Texas.

Competing against top agricultural programs from across the nation, OPSU earned the prestigious NACTA Sweepstakes Trophy, marking the university’s first time being named overall national champions at the event.

The Seward County Community College Library and its staff do a lot of work every day to make sure the patrons who walk through the doors get taken care of.

Recently, the library received some grant money to help with just that, having been named one of 300 libraries picked to receive a $10,000 grant that will help the library improve key mobility accessibility areas within its facilities.

Like many churches across the United States, several churches in Liberal currently do not have a full-time pastor in the pulpit leading services and other activities.

New Beginnings Church, though, currently has three such pastors, in Lead Pastor Phillip Dow, Associate Pastor Bailey Norris and Children’s Pastor Cody Bernsten.

Funding for education has been a hot topic especially recently, with many programs being threatened.

Last Tuesday, Gov. Laura Kelly announced she sent a letter to United States Secretary of Education Linda McMahon, requesting reinstatement of $22.6 million in federal pandemic relief funds. The United States Department of Education announced in late March the federal government was recouping nearly $3 billion in pandemic relief funds from states. Many states, including Kansas, had already obligated these funds for programs and services benefiting students and educators, according to a release from the State of Kansas.

As of April 16, a total of 37 cases have been reported. KDHE is informing the public of potential measles exposure at the following location:
